CMA CGM Invests $20B to Expand U.S. Logistics Presence
Last Thursday, ocean carrier CMA CGM announced their commitment to invest $20 billion throughout the next four years towards improving their transportation and logistics partnerships with the U.S.
In theirĀ news release, CMA CGM say their commitment will create U.S. shipbuilding capabilities, expand port infrastructure, expand air cargo services, and bolster logistics, warehouses.
Their investment plan includes acquiring five new Boeing 777 freighters for a new hub in Chicago, expanding digitization, enhanced connectivity, and improving safety for workers and cargo at key U.S. ports through infrastructure projects. Additionally, they plan to open cutting-edge warehousing to ensure the domestic supply chain remains protected and dependable.
