What is a property broker?
Interlog USA, Inc. is not a trucking company or carrier. Rather we are a licensed property broker. Our job is to match your shipments with suitable carriers rather than actually transport product. For this we receive a fee. This fee is added to the carrier's freight charges and included in our invoice to our customers.
We work hard at our job. Every day we are in constant contact with thousands and thousands of carriers looking for just the right carrier we can ask to handle your freight. Once we find that perfect carrier we then investigate them to ensure they are a solid and reputable company, not some fly-by-night outfit.
Because we expend a great deal of effort in putting shippers and carriers together, we are entitled to compensation from our customers. Our carriers are prohibited from either directly or indirectly soliciting business away from any Interlog customer. They have agreed to an injunction and to monetary damages should they violate this provision. We ask that our customers respect our relationship with carriers and not ask them to haul cargo without involving Interlog.
What is Interlog's role with respect to cargo loss or damage?
Although we may assist you with the processing of freight claims, we assume no liability for loss or damage. Instead all interests in freight claims shall remain the property of the customer at all times.
Just because we assume no liability for loss or damage does not mean we do not assist you in this area. First we scrutinize all truckers we deal with before we allow them to handle your shipments. This includes ensuring truckers meet legal insurance coverage limits and safety requirements.
You may request copies of any supporting documents as well as investigate any carrier you want prior to them actually transporting your shipments. Just let us know.
Secondly, as circumstances dictate, we may assist you in the filing and processing of claims. Our team of claims' specialists stands ready to help you through this process.
What if my shipment is late?
Although we make every reasonable attempt to ensure your shipment is picked up and delivered as requested, neither we (nor our carriers) can guarantee delay-free transport. Many factors such as weather, road construction, mechanical conditions, etc. can affect transport. For these reasons neither Interlog nor the carriers we deal with will be held liable for consequential damage as a result of late or missed pickups or deliveries.
